Pickup profiles for each location
Updated 19 August 2026
Give every collection point its own opening days, hours, blocked dates and cutoffs, instead of one shared pickup calendar for the whole shop.
Available on the Organised plan and above.
Before you start
In Shopify, turn local pickup on for each collection location (Settings → Locations). Flare only offers locations that are active and have local pickup switched on.
Set it up
- Open Date availability and switch to the Pickup tab.
- Turn Store pickup on, if it is off.
- Find Pickup profiles and click Add pickup profile.
- Name the profile after the site, for example "Bristol shop".
- Choose the site in Shopify pickup location. One profile covers one location.
- Set Available pickup days for that location.
- To offer collection windows, turn Pickup time slots on, add each window, then choose a Slot length.
- Optional: write a Description, up to 200 characters. Customers see it under the address when they choose a location.
- Repeat steps 3 to 8 for your other locations.
- Click Save.
A new profile starts with the days and time windows from the pickup calendar above it, so you only edit what differs at that site.
Blocked dates and cutoffs per location
Blocked dates and cutoffs are not on the profile card. Set them further down the Pickup tab, then scope them to profiles:
- Blocked dates: add a group of dates, set Apply to to Specific pickup profiles, then select the profiles.
- Pickup cutoffs: add a cutoff, set Apply to to Specific pickup profile, then select the profiles.
If a profile has a cutoff of its own, Flare uses only that cutoff for that location. Cutoffs scoped to all profiles are ignored there.
Booking window stays shop-wide. The earliest and furthest pickup dates apply to every location.
Send unmatched locations to a profile
A location with no profile of its own uses the pickup calendar at the top of the Pickup tab.
To send those locations to a profile instead, open the profile and tick Use this profile for pickup locations that don't match any profile. The profile then carries a Default / fallback badge.
If you turn the fallback profile off, unmatched locations return to the pickup calendar. Flare warns you when this happens. Deleting the fallback profile clears the setting.
How it behaves
- The storefront pickup picker lists only locations that have an enabled pickup profile. A location without one stays hidden there.
- If exactly one location qualifies, Flare selects it silently and shows no picker. If none qualify, Flare shows no picker and offers the shop-wide pickup calendar.
- Shopify's own pickup list at checkout is unchanged. A customer can still choose a location there that has no profile in Flare. That order gets the fallback profile's dates, or the shop-wide pickup calendar.
- Turning a profile off hides its location from the storefront picker, and the location falls back like any unmatched one.
- Each pickup order still carries its location tag, so every site can filter its own collection list. See Store pickup.
Rules to know
- If local pickup is off for the location in Shopify, or the location is inactive, its profile never applies. Flare names the location in a warning on the Pickup tab.
- Assign each location to one enabled profile. If two enabled profiles hold the same location, only one of them applies. Flare uses the first match in the list, and the customer-facing description comes from that same profile.
- If someone deletes the location in Shopify, the profile keeps the assignment and shows it as missing in Shopify. Customers can no longer choose that location, so the profile stops applying. Assign a live location, or delete the profile.
- If you rename a location in Shopify, open the Pickup tab and save. Flare re-reads the location names on every save and stores the current one.
- Warnings never block Save. Flare saves your profiles and tells you which ones will not be used.
- Profiles do nothing while Store pickup is off. Customers see no pickup dates until you turn it on.
