What is Flare?
Updated 19 August 2026
Flare is a Shopify app. Your customers choose their delivery date while they shop, and Flare runs your fulfilment operation around that promise.
What Flare does
Before the order is placed
- Shows a delivery date picker on your product page, cart page, cart drawer, or inside Shopify checkout (Shopify Plus).
- Offers only the dates you can deliver. Flare applies your cutoff times, preparation time, delivery days, blocked dates, daily order limits, and carrier transit times.
- Calculates different dates and shipping rates for different regions, down to postcode/ZIP level.
After the order is placed
- Writes the delivery date and the ship date onto the order as tags, attributes, and line-item properties. Your team and your other tools can see when each order must go out.
- Holds orders, then releases them to your fulfilment system on the right day.
- Shows every order on a daily calendar, organised by ship, delivery, or pickup date.
- Keeps the promised date in front of your customer, on the thank you page, in the order confirmation email, and on the order status page. Customers can also reschedule themselves.
Where everything lives
The Flare navigation has nine pages. This is what you do on each one, in the order they appear.
| Page | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | See what is live and what needs attention. New stores get the setup guide here, plus the week's orders and this month's totals once you are live. |
| Date availability | Decide which dates customers can choose: delivery days, earliest and latest dates, cutoff times, blocked dates, and time slots. The Pickup tab holds pickup days and pickup profiles. The Recurring orders tab holds dates for subscription renewals. |
| Storefront experience | Choose where the date picker appears, and set its wording and styling. |
| Customer communications | Show the chosen date after checkout, on the thank you page, on the order status page, and in the order confirmation email. Let customers change their date. |
| Order management | See your orders by day on the Calendar tab. The Controls tab points you at the Flare tools inside Shopify admin: date edits on orders and draft orders, bulk reschedule, and checkout validation. The Settings tab holds order limits, hold and release, automated dating, and the date attributes and tags saved onto orders. |
| Shipping & rates | Build shipping zones and the rates inside them. Set delivery dates by region, UPS and FedEx live transit, and delivery surcharges. |
| Product & customer rules | Give different dates to particular products or customers: lead times, hidden pickers, restricted weekdays, and preorder dates. |
| Integrations & partners | Connect ShipStation, Recharge, Skio, and other partners. Browse apps that work with Flare, and Flare experts. |
| Pricing | Compare the plans, start a trial, and change or cancel your plan. |
