Turning Flare on and off
Updated 23 July 2026
You can pause Flare across your whole store without uninstalling or losing any configuration.
Where
On the Flare Home (Dashboard) page, use the app-level Turn on / Turn off action.
What turning Flare off does
- Hides the date picker everywhere it's installed (product page, cart, drawer, and checkout).
- Stops the checkout date requirement, so customers can check out without choosing a date.
- New orders arrive without Flare dates, tags, or holds.
Your settings, zones, and theme blocks all stay in place — turning Flare back on restores everything instantly.
What it does NOT do
- It doesn't remove the app blocks from your theme. You don't need to touch the theme editor to pause Flare.
- It doesn't change orders that already exist. Orders already on hold stay on hold — release them from the Shopify admin if needed.
- It doesn't pause billing. To stop billing, cancel your plan from the Pricing page.
When to use it
- Going on holiday and switching to "ship whenever" mode.
- Diagnosing a theme or checkout issue and wanting to rule Flare out.
- Pausing scheduled deliveries during an operational crunch.
If you only want to pause part of Flare — for example, stop offering dates on certain products — use Product & customer rules instead of turning the whole app off.
