Bringing an existing Shopify rate into Flare

Already have shipping rates set up in Shopify? You don't have to rebuild them. Flare can import a rate — price, free-shipping threshold, weight/price bands and all — into a zone profile it manages.
How
- In Shipping settings, open the zone whose country matches the Shopify rate. Flare lists the Shopify-managed rates that already exist for that zone as read-only cards, so you can see exactly what's there.
- On the rate you want, click Bring into Flare.
- Review the "Bring this rate into Flare" preview — Flare converts the rate's pricing into a profile:
- flat price → base rate;
- "free over £X" → subtotal tier priced 0;
- weight/price bands → the matching tier table.
- Confirm. The imported profile appears in your zone, ready for transit times, delivery days, cutoffs, and conditions.
There's an undo immediately after import if it's not what you wanted.
Rules to know
- Common rate shapes import losslessly. A rate too complex to convert exactly imports as a flat price and Flare tells you — check the preview before confirming.
- When your Flare zones go live in Flare-managed mode, keeping the original Shopify copy of an imported rate would show shoppers a duplicate — Flare flags conflicts and asks for explicit confirmation before removing anything from Shopify. Nothing is deleted silently.
- Prefer to keep your Shopify rates exactly as they are? Use "Match my existing rates" mode instead — Flare adds dates to your rates without owning them. See the overview.
