Requirements and compatibility

What you need for the date picker

A Shopify 2.0 theme. Flare's date picker installs as app blocks and app embeds, which vintage (1.0) themes don't support. If you see the error "App block not added. Liquid templates don't support sections and blocks", upgrade your theme first — see I get an error adding the date picker to my theme.
Physical products. The picker only shows for carts containing physical, shippable items. Digital products and gift cards don't trigger it.
One theme location at a time. Run the picker on the product page, the cart page, or the cart drawer — not several at once. Enabling two locations shows two calendars and causes conflicts. The checkout date picker is a separate surface with its own rules.

Checkout date picker

The in-checkout date picker uses Shopify checkout extensibility and requires Shopify Plus. Non-Plus stores get the same functionality from the product page, cart page, or cart drawer picker instead.

Shipping rates (shipping zones)

If you want Flare to show live shipping rates at checkout (rates that change by zone, date, or cart), your store needs Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping:

Included on Advanced Shopify and Shopify Plus.
On other plans, available by switching to annual billing or adding Shopify's carrier-calculated shipping add-on (contact Shopify support).
Development stores have it enabled by default.

If your store isn't eligible, Flare automatically falls back to managing static Shopify rates for your zones instead — dates still work; rates just can't vary by delivery date or live carrier pricing.

Cart drawer (slide cart) apps

Flare's drawer picker works with most theme-native cart drawers, including Dawn. Third-party slide-cart apps vary:

Compatible: SlideCart HQ, UpCart.
Not compatible: Kaching AI Slide Cart Drawer.

If you use a different cart drawer app, test it — if the picker doesn't appear, contact support and we'll check it for you.

Languages and currencies

Date picker copy is fully translatable per storefront language, and the calendar itself ships with 20 language packs (French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, and more). See Wording and translations.
Shipping rates are returned in your store currency; Shopify converts them for international customers as normal.

Subscriptions and other apps

Subscription integrations: Recharge and Skio (see Integrations).
Deposits and partial payments: Downpay.
Fulfilment: ShipStation, plus order tags/attributes/metafields any 3PL or OMS can read.
Automations: order tags and a Shopify Flow trigger when a customer changes their delivery date.
