Downpay integration (deposits)

Take a deposit at order time and collect the balance when the order is ready to ship — a natural fit for scheduled, high-value orders (furniture, catering, preorders) where delivery is weeks out.

Set it up
Downpay is a separate Shopify app; the integration is configured on Downpay's side:
- From Integrations → Downpay in Flare, click Install Downpay (it links to the Shopify App Store).
- Follow View Integration Guide — Downpay's Flare setup guide walks through connecting the two.
How it works together
- The customer pays their deposit and picks a delivery date as normal.
- The order carries Flare's ship/delivery dates, so Downpay's balance collection can key off "ready to ship" — the remaining payment is captured when the order approaches its dispatch date rather than on an arbitrary timer.
- Combined with hold & release, the sequence becomes: deposit → held until window → balance collected → released → shipped.
