ShipStation integration
Updated 23 July 2026
Flare writes each order's dispatch date into ShipStation's Ship By and Ship Date fields automatically. Sort your ShipStation queue by Ship By and today's work is simply the top of the list — no manual data entry.
Available on the Pro plan.
Connect it
- In ShipStation, go to Settings → Account → API Settings, select V1 API, and click Generate API Keys.
- In Flare, open Integrations → ShipStation and paste the API Key and Secret Key.
- Copy the webhook URL Flare shows you, then in ShipStation go to Settings → Integration Partners → Webhooks → Add a Webhook: name it "Flare", set the event to On New Orders, apply to All Stores, and paste the URL.
- Save both sides. The card shows Active.
Choose which date syncs
Date to sync to Shipstation:
- Ship date (default) — the dispatch date Flare calculated. Recommended: it's what a shipping queue should sort by.
- Delivery date — writes the delivery date into those same fields instead. Note ShipStation has no native "deliver by" field, so this reuses Ship By/Ship Date — only choose it if your workflow reads them that way.
How it behaves
- When ShipStation imports a new order, it notifies Flare; Flare looks the order up and stamps the date onto it in ShipStation within moments.
- If a date later changes — admin change, bulk reschedule, or a customer reschedule — Flare pushes the update to ShipStation.
- Combine with hold & release so far-future orders don't even reach ShipStation until their window.
Removing it
Integrations → ShipStation → Remove connection stops the sync (existing ShipStation data is left as-is). Also delete the webhook in ShipStation to stop its notifications.
A note on order notes
ShipStation imports Shopify order note attributes into its notes fields by default, which can make Flare's technical attributes show in packing-slip notes. That's a ShipStation import setting — see ShipStation's field-mapping options, or ask support and we'll point you at the exact toggle.
